does anyone know of anywhere you can study psychiatry without needing to study medicine first?

Psychiatry is the branch of medicine that deals with mental disorders.
You might be referring to the study of psychology which is an academic branch that deals with mental function & behavior.

    Nope can’t be done because that’s what psychiatry is, it’s the study of how medications react to both the brain and the psychology of a person.

    Nope! There is no such thing as a shortcut for that. I’ve seen my aunt try and do it first hand. She wound up kicking herself in the ass & giving herself more work in the long run. The best thing would be to do medicine first as it teaches you the basics. Of course you’ll learn about medication (duh) but in addition what are the various effects of its usage/abuse/misuse, oh lets not forget the diseases of the body like small pox or influenza and all that dabble my aunt explained. All that later trickles down to psychiatry down that long long long road of medicine. You won’t find a school that would let you to pursue on without the other. Good luck on your quest. Its a long one but well worth it.
