Q&A: How long do withdrawal symptoms last?

Question by Sam: How long do withdrawal symptoms last?
Hello all! Well first of all let me give you guys a bit of a background, I quit marijuana about a week ago after about three years of moderate use (anywhere from 2-5 times a week) and ever since I have noticed the withdrawal effects that come with quitting, such as social anxiety and anxiety in general, depression, sleep problems (it takes me a while to fall asleep and I wake up 2-3 times a night on most nights), and random anger outbursts. I feel that these symptoms are a little bit more severe with me due to the fact that, please don’t judge, I went cold turkey on pornography about three weeks ago (I’ve been cold turkey for three weeks, so proud of myself) and I know that with this come even more withdrawal symptoms, so I am just wondering how long will I have to endure said symptoms? Thank you.

I think it’s different for everyone. But the longer you go without it the easier it will get. Just try to occupy your mind with other things and pick up new healthy habits. You can do it! 🙂

hey sam 🙂 good effort with quitting both porn and marijuana … i have never took marijuana but i have had withdrawals from anti depressants and know how hard withdrawals are.. so keep battling because you will get there in the end! 🙂 i will be honest when i say i dont know how long these withdrawals will last have you tried looking on the internet? and also (i know this is personal) but i can understand why you have stopped watching porn… but maybe if you have stopped masturbating then maybe start again because masturbating is perfectly healthy!

if your symptoms with withdrawals persist then see your doctor…

    take care 🙂
