its officially Carisoprodol a carbamic acid ester
the active metabolite is meprobromate , a tranquilizer
However, it enhances sensitization of opiates like codeine etc

    No. Soma (carisoprodol) is a muscle relaxant. One of its metabolites is meprobromaate (though not a narcotic/opiate, it is a controlled sedative-hypnotic that was marketed under the trade name Miltown). An interesting note: studies have found addicts have discovered that combining it with he opiate painkiller hydrocodone (Vicodin/Lortab) produces a heroin-like high.
