yeah, i’ve heard that it’s bad because it thins your blood. most tattoo artists won’t tattoo you if they know you’re drunk &/or on pills.

What do you think? Answer below!

The answer to your question is NO! You can take pain pills before getting a tat with no problem. People will tell you that painkillers (as well as alcohol) will thin out your blood and give you less than satisfactory results…. Yes they do thin your blood but the artist will most likely use a few counter measures to stop this: 1, being A&D ointment. This is the stuff they cover the working surface with before they start working, which acts as a coagulant by clogging pores. 2, would be greensoap. Green soap is what they use many times during the process to rinse away excess ink. Ink that runs out of the guns tube, blood, etc. It will also serve as a pore clogger. I’ve watched many people do this and the piece came out just fine.

Painkillers will allow you to go through the process not feeling much at all….. BUT, This is not the way tattoos were meant to be done. When you get inked while being sober and you endure the pain, it gives you a whole different feeling and you find a new respect for the art form. So if this is your first, go sober. Just so you know what it feels like….

it would probably alter the tattoo in some ways…..Because say it were asprins they thin your blood and that would cause excessive bleeding. I would rec. taking them afterwards.

It does thin your blood!!!! I know one thing for sure, that pain pill is only working on your mind not on your body!!!
But another thing is that if you get a lot of ink done look around, there are things that are like anesthetic for tattoos! They have them for before you get tattoo and while… I love the stuff that is for WHILE, you do not feel a thing! And it does not mess up tattoo by any means!

Aspirin thins the blood paracetamol doesn’t! I bled a lot when getting tattooed so wouldn’t want to take anything to thin my blood any more! My last tattoo went into my armpit & my tattooist asked me if I wanted to take some paracetamol of course I said no because 1 the whole point of a tattoo is feeling the pain as well & 2 they wouldn’t have done anything anyway!
