Is xanax right for me?

Question by Hello: Is xanax right for me?
Since I was little at the age of 6 or 7 I have been having episodes or attacks that have influenced my life. I am currently a 17 year old male at 6’2 170 pounds and I go to the gym 4 times a week.
I recently had an attack at my aunt house and like usual my heart starts pounding palms of my hands get sweaty and my legs and hands go numb. I also get a tight pain sensation in my chest my blood pressure also sky rockets and I lt goes any where from 160 to 190 over 100 to 110 with a heart rate of 100 to 115. Anyways I had one of my attacks like usual at my aunts house and my aunt also has anxiety disorder ( it runs in the family) she gave me one .5 mg of xanax to calm me down and it worked I was really surprised I have taken benedryl, asprin to thing my blood etc. but doesn’t seem to work. I don’t smoke weed drink alcohol and have no addictive habits for I have done my research of people getting addicted but also noticed they were abusing it. I’m just curious should I ask my doctor about the medicine or not? Need opinions…. Thanks

Yes! Xanax helps greatly with anxiety. I too suffer from it but not all the time. I take it when needed. But for me it makes me tired so l only take in evening. You just have to be careful my dr said it can be addictive but he did say to take it daily if needed so who knows!

Xanax is used to treat anxiety. However, it doesn’t mean it’s the right drug for you. If you are allergic to any sort of drug that contains ingredients used in xanax then stray from it. Your doctor might know which drug is the best to prescribe. Xanax isn’t the only anti-anxiety drug out on the market today.
